1. UGC Approval Status:

Sangam University, is a private university established under the Government of Rajasthan Act No. 14 of 2012 and recognized under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is a non-profit and self-sustained Institution. It currently has four Schools, viz.-School of Engineering & Technology, School of Management Studies, School of Basic & Applied Sciences and School of Legal Studies. i. BA-LLB (5 YEAR)

BA-LLB is an integrated program focusing on an integration of a normal graduation Bachelor in Arts program and a study of Law. The program with envisage on preparing students for practicing Law in National and International Courts , Judicial Services , Competitive exams and Organizational Skills. Several Specialization such as Cyber law, Human Right Law, Consumer Protection Laws and Intellectual Property rights shall be available as value addition Courses.

ii. BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (3 YEAR)

Bachelors of Computer Application Emphasis on helping students learn the theory and apply it successfully in developing information Systems. It also aims to give an insight into organizational analysis techniques for creatively designing business processes that improve performance and learning in work groups. The employment areas include Financial Institutions, Government Agencies, IT Consultancies, Educational Institutions, Security and Surveillance Companies, System Maintenance, Technical Support and Software developing firms.

iii. DIPLOMA COURSES (3 YEAR)

Mining Engineering:

  • Mining Engineering Technology is a Diploma Program that focuses on the application of scientific principles to basic Mining Engineering problems in both Hard and Soft Rock Mining Environments. Studies will focus on surface and Underground surveying, Mine Ventilation, Ground Control, Mine Planning and Design. Students will be able to work in fields such as surveying, Ventilation, Ground Control, Mine Planning and Supervision. They may find employment at a Mine site or testing laboratory or with a consulting firm
  • Electronics and Communication:

  • Diploma in Electronics and Communication specializes in the various sections of Maintenance, Manufacturing and Supervision of electronics equipment. The Major areas of work in the department are: Communication Systems/ Micro Electronics & VLSI / RF and Microwave Engineering /System Modeling and Control
  • Civil Engineering:

  • Civil engineering is concerned with the design, manufacture as well as repairs of manmade and natural structures around us. These include bridges, buildings, dams and rods etc. They also play important role in the construction of good quality systems of transport such as railway lines, highways and most importantly, airports. With the recent boom in the construction industry, the infrastructural growth within the country has gone up.
  • Mech. Engineering:

  • Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering. It is also referred to as the mother branch of engineering. Mechanical engineers have to deal with concepts such as mechanics, thermodynamics, robotics, kinematics, structural analysis, fluid mechanics and many others. These concepts are applied in the process of designing state-of-the-art manufacturing units, different types of motor vehicles, aircraft and aerospace parts and a vast assortment of industrial machinery. Mechanical engineers also contribute in the development of various engines, power plant equipment, heating and cooling systems and other simple and complex machinery. Mechanical engineers not only design new mechanical systems but they are also responsible for testing, maintaining and manufacturing them. Road to entrepreneurship passes through Mechanical , since subjects like Industrial engineering and other related inputs lays foundation of strong industrial entrepreneurs.
  • iv. CERTIFICATE COURSES

    Certificate Course in PLC/SCADA (3 Months)

    The objective of this course is to make the aspiring engineers acquainted with the conceptual as well as practical knowledge of the Industrial Automation & Latest Technologies. The Idea of this course is to inculcate the basic fundamentals of Automation in the students to provide them with a platform to work on, in the near future. The most used guiding force behind an Automated Industrial Plant is a Programmable Logic Controller generally known as a PLC. SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is a type of industrial control System (ICS). ICS are Computer controlled systems that monitor and control industrial processes that exist in the physical world.This Course is designed to benefit students with practical up-to-date information on the application of PLC systems to the automation and process control industries

    Certificate Course in Digital Marketing (3 Months)

    Digital media is so pervasive that consumers have access to information any time and any place they want it. Gone are the days when the messages people got about your products or services came from you and consisted of only what you wanted them to know. Digital media is an ever-growing source of entertainment, news, shopping and social interaction, and consumers are now exposed not just to what your company says about your brand, but what the media, friends, relatives, peers, etc., are saying as well. And they are more likely to believe them than you. People want brands they can trust, companies that know them, communications that are personalized and relevant, and offers tailored to their needs and preferences.

    Certificate Course in Power Plant Training (6 Months)

    The present Coal based Power Plant Operation Training Course syllabus has been designed in such a way that student shall have both theoretical as well as Practical Knowledge of Power Plant Operation. Course covers Boiler / Steam Turbine operation and Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation subjects relevant to Power Plant operations. Practical training shall be given at various power plants and hands on practice on 210MW Power Plant Simulator Training are given to each student so that they have good knowledge of DCS and Power Plant Operation.

    7. Letter Grading System:

    CGPA /SGPA system is a scientific and widely accepted evaluation Instead of (CGPA/ SGPA system is being followed by all the reputed institutes )

    Evaluation Highlights:

    • As practiced in Top Ranking Universities in India today, Sangam University follows Continuous Internal Evaluation spread over the semester with Letter grading and CGPA system. Typically for a subject after 4 weeks of semester starting there is Assignment-I carrying 12.5% weightage given to a student which must be completed before the Mid Semester Examination carrying a weightage of 25% conducted 8 weeks after semester starting. After 12 weeks of semester start, there is Assignment-II carrying 12.5% weightage which must be completed before the End Semester Examination carrying a weightage of 50% conducted after 16 weeks of semester starting. After each evaluation component, students are informed about the highest marks, lowest marks and average marks of each subject, so that student can assess his own relative performance.
    • In order to arrive at the Letter grades based on relative grading, the total marks in a particular subject for all the students in the class shall be tabulated in a descending order list (equivalently a Histogram). The performance of the class shall be analyzed in terms of average, highest and the lowest marks and dividing lines between the clusters of students. Gaps and dips between the clusters and the nature of the clusters will guide in drawing the dividing line between the grades. C+ and C bands usually indicate the average mark of the class. If the set of marks do not fall in a normal distribution curve, such situations would be handled by statistical methods or absolute grading if the situation warrants.
    • The letter grade, qualitative meaning and grade point respectively are A+ Outstanding 10, A Excellent 9, B+ Very Good 8, B Good 7, C+ Above Average 6, C Average 5, D Satisfactory 4, E Exposed 2, F Fail 0.
    • Based on the Credits allocated to different subjects and the grades awarded and corresponding grade points, CGPA Cumulative Grade Point Average is calculated.
    • While for diploma and undergraduate programs, student must maintain 4.50 CGPA, for post graduate programs student must maintain 5.50 CGPA. In undergraduate programs, while one E is allowed per semester, in post graduate programs no E Grade is allowed. It is understood that student can not complete degree requirements with F grade in any subject.

    • More than 46,000 books covering over 5,500 titles. The Library has a Reading Room having more than 125 National and International Journals, Magazines, Periodicals and Newspapers to fulfill and supplement the academic needs of the students.
    • The University has subscribed to the NPTEL web course from IIT Madras and online journals from ELSEVIER, Electronic Library (IEL) Online, Digital Engineering Library (DEL), Springer- Mechanical and Electrical, Mc Graw Hill Access Engineering Library, J-Gate- Engineering, J-Gate- Social and Management Sciences, EBSCO, ASTM Digital Library and access to publications from IEEE and IEE. Library remains open from 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM on all working days & from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM on Sundays.

      Are students given placement assistance:

      Yes, all students are provided with placement assistance. We have a dedicated department called CRC (CRC has been set up with the objective of assisting students in summer training, placements, industry visits and soft skills enhancement.
