Students of Sangam University Bhilwara conducted a detailed study of plants and animals in Hamirgarh Eco Park. The one-day tour was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Preeti Mehta, Dean of the School of Basic and Applied Science of the institute. She emphasized on the students to do practical work in the field. In Hamirgarh Eco Park, Dr. Shahdab Hussain’s research scholars Jayant Sharma, Shreya Shekhawat, Tarang Ojha collected many endangered and threatened plant species. This plant species has been collected from this area for the first time, whose samples will be studied in the laboratory on the basis of taxonomic method. Dr. Shahdab Hussain gave detailed information to the students of MSc and BSc about the medicinal properties of plants, their life cycle, habitat, nature and identification keys. During this visit, under the guidance of Dr. Shadab Hussain and Dr. Manoj Joshi, the students also photographed the footprints of leopard in the forest and confirmed the presence of leopard in the Eco Park. Dr. Manoj Joshi made the students of MSc Zoology study various species of insects and also collected their samples. In this sequence, some students also did their experiments on the basis of quadrat method. Dr. Gunmala Guglia and Reena Modi of the Botany Department also guided the students and collected samples of fungi and other plant groups. Dr. Vikram Singh Bhati of the Physics Department collected various types of information related to environmental pollution and studied its ill effects on plants. The BSc and MSc students did a detailed study of plants and animals and collected samples.
