Carpe Diem 2016, a largest annual cultural festival of IIM Calcutta which is one of the most awaited event among students across India. To select the students for carp diem, Mr. Kartik Mehta, Executive from IIM-Calcutta visited Sangam University and conducted a session on entrepreneur and soft skills followed by selection quiz session. We are proud to share that our five management studies students Gourav Agrawal, Poorvi Sodani, Tanuj Raizuday Kalash Agarwal and Sejal Bapna get selected to showcase their talent in the cultural festival to be held on 29-30 Jan 2016.

The objective of the camp is to enhance and boost the basic skills of the students who want to start a new venture, the students were enabled to know the various schemes by the government. The experts bestowed the maxims and elaborated how to make a start, the resource person also discussed the features of a successful entrepreneur with the students.

Mr. Inda taught students about the differences in national and international HR practices. He talked about the various tactics of adopting HR practices adopted across cultures in organizations.

A seminar on ‘Importance of Share Market’ was organised, for SOMS Students on 26th November, 2019. The seminar was conducted by Mr. SaurabhSancheti. He addressed the gathering of students while emphasizing on the importance of capital market for investors.The objective of the seminar was to give the exposure and understanding of share market operations to the students. The theme of the seminar covered importance of capital market, equity instruments, career in equity research, trading in equity market. He imparted knowledge of secondary market and its operations. The session was concluded with vote of thanks.

Dr. Pallavi Mehta was invited to deliver a session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Foreign Exchange Market. She discussed on different aspects of Intellectual Properties like What is a Patent, Patent Rights, Trademarks, Industrial Design, Geographical Indication, IC Layout (Semiconductor, Trade Secret, Copyright, Protection of plant verities, Farmers’ Rights and Researchers’ Rights. She concluded the talk by explaining the rationale of protection and the nature of IPR. She emphasized that IPR have to be renewed from time to time for keeping them enforced except in case of copyright and trade secrets.
