Dr. Alok Kumar
Currently, Dr. Alok Kumar is the Registrar of Sangam University Bhilwara. Before joining Sangam University, he had been serving as the Registrar and CoE of ITM Vocational University, Vadodara, Gujarat. He has also served as Dy. Registrar and COE of Sikkim Professional University (SPU), Gangtok. Dr Kumar became Registrar for the first time in 2018 for North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU), Aalo, Arunachal Pradesh where he served for four years and six months. He had been teaching as Associate Professor at School of Liberal Arts, Karnawati University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, prior to joining NEFTU. He has total experience of 22 years in academics out of which 8 years are in the Office of the Registrar.
He completed his M. Phil. and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has an accomplished academic background with number of fellowships/scholarships such as Doctoral Fellowship from Indian Council Social Science Research (ICSSR); overseas Ph.D. field visit granted by University Grant Commission (UGC); State Talent Scholarship at higher secondary level; and he also qualified National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). In addition to his research experience, he had been actively engaged in action research and advocacy for more than nine years. He started his research career as a Senior Researcher at Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow where he contributed his research competencies to NABARD for more than three projects. He had also been associated organization of international repute like Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), Delhi and KonradAdenauer-Stiftunge.V. Liaison Office, New Delhi. He had worked on several ICSSR funded projects on Gender Violence, Non-Communicable Disease, Discrimination in India’s Business Economy, Sanitation Workers, Gaps in Higher Education etc. Besides his work experience, he has authored books and articles in peer reviewed journals, book reviews, as also he contributed several chapters in edited volumes. He has developed one course material for correspondence course (MA, Political Science) for Distance and Open Learning, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He has been presenting research papers in seminars/conferences at national and international forums.
