(Prof.)(Dr.) Vikas Somani
Dr. Vikas Somani is Professor and Dean (Research) at Sangam University, Bhilwara, and Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science along with M.Tech, MCA, and BCA qualifications. With more than 17 years of academic, research, and industry experience, he has established himself as a dedicated educator, researcher, and technology leader in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, IoT, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, and ERP Systems. He possesses extensive experience in teaching, research supervision, academic administration, digital transformation, and software development. Before joining Sangam University in 2012, he worked as Assistant Professor at ITM Bhilwara and also served as a Web Developer with leading organizations including HTMT Global Solutions, Hurket Software Solutions, and RCM Business. His professional expertise includes website development, ERP implementation, cloud infrastructure, and digital marketing solutions.
Dr. Somani has published numerous research papers in reputed SCI, Scopus, IEEE, Springer, and UGC-CARE indexed journals and conferences. He has also authored and edited books and contributed book chapters with internationally recognized publishers such as Taylor & Francis, CRC Press, Springer Nature, and Scholar Press. His research contributions mainly focus on AI-driven applications, IoT-based intelligent systems, cloud computing optimization, smart agriculture, cybersecurity, and biometric systems.
He has successfully guided multiple Ph.D. scholars in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Cloud Computing, IoT, and Software Engineering. He is actively associated with research and innovation activities and has several patents and design grants published in emerging technologies including AI-based systems, smart farming, disaster management, and cloud security.
Dr. Vikas Somani plays a significant role in academic and institutional development at Sangam University as Coordinator of ERP, IT Infrastructure, Website Management, Digital Marketing, AWS Academy, SWAYAM-NPTEL, and various research and quality assurance initiatives. He has also served as reviewer, session chair, keynote speaker, and expert member for several national and international conferences, journals, workshops, and academic bodies.
A dynamic academician, researcher, and mentor, Dr. Somani continuously works towards promoting innovation, industry-oriented learning, and technology-enabled education for students and researchers.
